Shoebill Stork - Bird Park, Singapore

The Shoebill (Balaeniceps rex) also known as Whalehead or Shoe-billed Stork, is a very large stork-like bird. It derives its name from its massive shoe-shaped bill. The adult bird is 115-150 cm tall, 100-140 cm long, 230-260 cm across the wingspan and weighs 4-7 kg. Their beaks have an average length of 30 cm. The adult is mainly grey while the juveniles are browner. It lives in tropical east Africa in large swamps from Sudan to Zambia.

A Dramatic Tour Of Events

Dream Theater - A Dramatic Tour Of Events In Kallang Theatre, Singapore (May 2, 2012)

To see Dream Theater play live is one of the greatest experience.  Meeting and talking with them is another story.  Dream Theater is one of the best progressive metal band in the world.  This is just my second time to see them play live.  First time was in 2008 at Fort Canning Park, in Singapore, back when Mike Portnoy was still their drummer.  The moment they set their feet on stage, I felt goose bumps.  I never thought that "tears of joy" actually happens (I didn't cry though, just teary eyed.)  It was surreal... Seeing my so called "IDOLS" in flesh was one of the best things I could have experienced.  After that night, I promised myself that I will definitely see them again... with my little brother (though he's taller than me now.)

Four years later, I fulfilled my promise to my brother.  Not only did we see Dream Theater play live, we were able to Meet and Greet the band.

A dream come true, indeed...

The next time I see this guys will be with my wife and our lil boy. :)
